Terrorism in America
Does anyone know the second most deadly act of terrorism in America? It was the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building in Oklahoma City. The two main conspirators were Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. There were two others that were participants but only one of them went to prison because the other one ratted him out for the charges being dropped.

McVeigh was born in Lockport, NY and raised in a Roman Catholic environment. He stated that he was taken to church regularly by his father until he joined the US Army. While in the Army he obtained a book titled “The Turner Diaries” which became his bible. The book is fiction and depicts a race war in America and the collapse of the United States government. The book describes a step by step method to make all of this happen, among these is acts of terrorism. It was he and Nichols that planned the attack and composed the explosive that caused the destruction but is was McVeigh that delivered it.

Terry Nichols was born in Michigan and raised on a farm. I cannot find any evidence that Nichols was introduced into any religion in his upbringing. Nichols was identified as a nerdy type even though he played high school sports. His schoolmates said that he could be easily influenced. At the age of 33 he joined the US Army because he was less than successful at anything he tried and needed money to support his family. He met Timothy McVeigh at Fort Riley, Kansas. McVeigh was extremely upset with the US government about the Waco and Ruby Ridge incidents and then he found “The Turner Diaries” which inflamed him even more. He essentially brainwashed Terry Nichols into his train of thought. Nichols requested and received a hardship discharge because of trouble with his wife at home. I cannot find what the trouble was but it was not important, he had a copy of “The Turner Diaries”.

After McVeigh was discharged he contacted Nichols and they pumped each other up by discussing the inequities of Waco and Ruby Ridge and decided to follow the book and hatch a scheme of domestic terrorism. They chose the Murrah building because it was a “federal” building and had military recruiting offices...and a daycare center, but that did not seem to matter.

As you know, McVeigh and Nichols assembled barrels of fertilizer mixed with diesel fuel and loaded them into a rental van. McVeigh parked it in front of the building, initiated an ignition sequence and walked away. Y'all know what happened next.

USING PRESENT DAY LOGIC AMID TODAY'S FRENZY AS IT WOULD APPLY TO THIS ONE...What caused McVeigh and Nichols to perpetrate this attack and what can we do to prevent another one?

Religion;
During McVeigh's incarceration he said that he had abandoned the Catholic religion but still believed in God. His Catholic upbringing had to be a contributing factor, but his Deism (belief in God) had to be the main contributor. He never said that he believed in Jesus Christ therefore we have to assume he was not a Christian. By definition a Christian is a believer in Jesus Christ. It is possible to believe in God and believe Christ existed but was not supernatural (see Unitarianism). McVeigh was tried, convicted and sentenced to death. He refused any appeals and met his maker with a needle in his arm.

As I said I cannot find any evidence that Terry Nichols had any religious influence in his upbringing. This means that his being an agnostic or even an atheist was a contributing factor. During his trial he stated that he had accepted the precepts of Christianity. As stated to by one of the jurors, Nichols did not get the death penalty because he had become a Christian. He is serving life without parole as of my last research.

Solutions:
Forbid the Catholic church from existing because according to what we are being fed today is that Islam as a whole is the cause of all terrorism worldwide and after all, Timothy McVeigh was originally Catholic so his religion must be held partially responsible.

Execute all agnostics and atheists because Terry Nichols was one in his youth. However, they should all be imprisoned and given one chance at Christianity or it is adios, y'all.

Ban all books of fiction that describes someone's imagination about achieving a perfect world. Since many books of this nature have been published in the past they should all be gathered together in a great pyre and “we could dance around it like wild Indians.” This is a quote from Shawshank Redemption. Not only that, all the authors should be hanged and if dead should be exhumed and hanged anyway...see the history of Oliver Cromwell.

Forbid the media from reporting any and all acts of rebellion against the sitting administration such as we witnessed in Waco and Ruby Ridge. Apparently some people are inflamed to the point of terrorism by it.

Then perhaps what we really need to do is read the history of this great nation including the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights including its amendments which in my opinion is the most important document in the history of western man...and remember that we are all in this together and only get one chance each...maybe.

This Date in History December 10

1864 On this date the Union army under the command of US General William T. Sherman arrived in front of Savannah, Georgia after sweeping a 60 mile wide swath of destruction through central Georgia. The Confederates had flooded all the fields around Savannah leaving only a few roads on high ground to be defended. Sherman realized that he had outrun his supply line and tasked US General O.O. Howard to find the supply ships that were supposed to be awaiting their arrival. Howard sent one of his lieutenants and two enlisted men on the hunt. The lieutenant finally flagged down a Union warship and got them to take him to the supply ships which are riding at anchor in an inlet near Hilton Head Island. The lieutenant ordered the supply ships to Savannah. The 10,000 man Confederate army defending Savannah were commanded by General William Hardee. Sherman’s army was 60,000 strong. Hardee was able to hold out until December 20 then he realized that there was no way he could continue against the siege and he led his army up the coast to fight again another day.

Born today:

1911 TV journalist Chet Huntley. When speaking of former Vice-President Spiro Agnew he said “I hesitate to get into the gutter with this man.” Agnew had to resign in disgrace as Vice-President because it was proven that he took bribes while Governor of Maryland.

1805 US writer William Lloyd Garrison. He said “That which is not just is not law.” Hey William, who the hell determines what is just and what isn’t? I’ll tell you what, let’s just allow every person to determine what is just in their eyes and then anarchy will prevail. Then it is simply a case of who is the strongest, meanest or has the most efficient weapons. That would take care of the problem...right?

Thanks for listening I can hardly wait until tomorrow
