Quote of the day:
“During war God smiles on the side with the most artillery.”
General George S. Patton
August 12 is my birthday...don't ask.
Here is something to consider especially when a possible change in leadership is approaching.
When I was in the USAF I went to a seminar about a nuclear attacks. One of the methods they talked about is an attack to come from a terrorist group that would use small nuclear packages that would NOT explode on its own and package it with T-N-T, C-4 or some other explosive in the size of a back pack or something similar. Once the package was detonated there would NOT be a mushroom cloud or a monstrous blast of wind and heat but there would be a radioactive cloud that would move on the prevailing west to east winds and kill millions of us from radiation poisoning. With the right number of devices in the right places (I figure 30 or 35) an enormous number of us would be dead in about 10 days and this land would be uninhabitable for a century like Chernobyl. There was no mushroom cloud there, it was just radioactive debris blown into the atmosphere. Our enemies know they can not win a confrontation with the US...but they think they could win under these circumstances. Who do we retaliate against? Who is our enemy? It ain't Putin or that lunatic from North Korea...it could be someone that we do not have a clue where they come from but they are just as deadly. Who do you want to be in command during the circumstances above? It HAS to be someone that can be in control of this country and themselves...we MUST have a level headed leader...it is scary, especially since there are so many of our enemies that have or will have (see the deal with Iran) access to nuclear material. It is my belief that we must plan for the worst case scenario...and a nuclear attack as I described is indeed possible and elect the best person for this job.
I have a few questions. Why was there rioting in Ferguson when the police shot and killed Michael Brown? Why was their more rioting including gunfire and drive-by shootings on the anniversary of this shooting? In light of the fact that 244 teenagers, 74 % black, were killed in Chicago ALONE in the year since the killing of Michael Brown, why has the media, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Rahm Emmanuel, et al not said a freaking word about this? Why are there no activists in Chicago carrying signs saying “Black Lives Matter”? Why was there no rioting or even a protest at the massacre in the Mother Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC? I know why...those people in Charleston have class, y'all. Would Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Sam Donaldson or Walter Cronkite have asked all of those stupid inflammatory questions as moderator in the debate considering what shape our country is in? Logic tells me the media plows what ever ground that produces the most turmoil like a white cop and a black suspect, or anything that smacks of racial prejudice, fairness and truth in journalism be damned. I have swung over to Carly Fiorina's side but the media just don't give a damn...or do they? It looks like an attempt by the media to promote their own agenda. I have been asked why Carly? My response is that I think John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Harry Reid, Lindsay Graham et al have sold us out for their own aggrandizement. Ask yourself this question...If our Senators and/or Representatives had to make a choice between keeping their legislative careers or selling us out, what would be their choice?
A few years ago I took some time to focus in the history of the Maya. The oldest identifiable Mayan settlement is on the Pacific coast of Mexico and it has been dated to about 1,200BC. From there the progression seems to be eastward and northeastward to the Gulf and the Caribbean. There have been several well know discoveries of ruins of large cities like Chichen Itza, Tulum, Peten, Uxmal, etc. The Gods that they worshiped were the same regardless of the location and their constructions techniques were almost identical. This means that they had a system of communication so ideas could have been exchanged. They would build a pyramid using the same architectural methods...then when the time came to build another, they would just use the old pyramid as a base and expand on it. Keep in mind that they did this without the wheel, a compass, knowledge of basic machines, metals or draft animals. The largest pyramid in land area (not height) is in Mexico north of Mexico City...not Egypt. It was built by the Olmec who were the ancestors of the fierce Aztec. Recently archaeologists uncovered a “secondary” building, meaning it was under another building like they did with the pyramids. In the building a yards long frieze, or a wall sculpturing done in relief made of plaster was uncovered. This frieze has been untouched and unknown for centuries. The hieroglyphics were in sharp relief and easily read. The archaeologists found that the history of the surrounding city was not what had been previously thought. The wall carvings identified two kings that were previously unknown along with descriptions of attacks on other villages and receiving attacks from other kingdoms. This discovery was found in present day Honduras. Like I said the earliest known Mayan ruin is in Mexico on the west coast...Honduras is about 1,500 miles east on the Caribbean...I think they traveled and met each other also...How? One other question...Where did the earliest Maya and their ancestors come from? No one knows the answer to this one not to mention how they built those great cities without any outside help...or did they have help? It is interesting things to ponder.
This animal is one of the longest lived birds on the planet. It has been verified to live 70 years and is the symbol for this great nation. When they reach the age of about 40 they have a decision to make. Their beaks are dull and not hooked properly...their talons also are dull and not angled properly. Not only that their flight wings can get water logged and bunched together making it harder to fly. To resolve this the Bald Eagle usually flies to a high rocky peak where they can see in every direction for his/her protection. They then hammer their beaks on the rocks until part of it breaks off and then they await the growth of the new sharp and properly angled beak. They then pluck out their old and dull talons and await the growth of sharper and properly angled ones. After this is accomplished they began plucking out many of their flight feathers and await the growth of newer and stronger ones. After all of this is accomplished they are ready to live their lives as they used to. The analogy here is to shed the past and prepare yourself, no matter how painful, for whatever is coming. Bald Eagles are also known for flying above heavy rains...we can too. I hope all of you understand what I am trying to tell you...your lives are in the future not living in the past with dull beaks, dull talons and useless feathers....and in a monotonous rain.
Thanks for listening I can hardly wait until tomorrow
